Forminator Form ‘Consent’ field doesn’t work
-
After updating from Forminator V1.15.2 to V1.15.4 the GDPR field can no longer be edited ie you can edit but not save the changes, and the new Consent field, which is supposed to replace it, doesn’t seem to work. You can add a Consent field but not edit it or delete it.

I made a test on my lab site and I cannot replicate any of those issues. Please note that after Forminator or any other plugin update on the site there is a possibility of new conflict which happens sometimes.
Would you please run a conflict test? Please deactivate all plugins except Forminator one and check if the problem is gone. If so, then enable all plugins one by one and find which one is having a conflict. If there is no positive result, switch to the default WordPress theme like 2019 and see if it works.
Before this test, we recommend full site backup. If you’re not able to run this test, as this is a live site, we recommend running it on a staging site.
Please let us know about the results.
Kind Regards,
KrisHi Kris
Thanks for your suggestions. I tried disabling all my plugins as suggested but it made no difference. I am running default WordPress theme for 2016 which is up to date and no customisations applied. I am reluctant to change to another them in case I cause other problems on a live site and I do not have a test site.Forminator runs perfectly ok on all my forms except this one where I tried unsuccessfully to modify the GDPR field after your update and then as an alternative tried to use the Consent field. Once I insert it I am unable to edit it or remove it. Is it possible to go back to the previous version or is there an alternative field I can use that allows we to embed a link?
Kind regards
DavidAre you by any chance using any formatting in the field – like using any formatting tools from field editor or directly putting HTML/CSS tags in it (including even the basic A tag to make link)?
If yes, that could be related here as there’s a small bug (a side-effect of fixing XSS vulnerability). It should be fixed in the next release as far as i know and it shouln’t affect fields that already exist on forms (were added there before update and are not edited after updated). But if you need to edit these fields you may need to roll-back to previous release for now, I’m afraid.
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam
Ye, I am using embedded links. What’s the easiest way to go back to v1.15.2?
Kind regards
DavidHello @dspwpsupport !
I trust you’re doing well today!
You can download any older version of the plugin from the bottom of this page here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/forminator/advanced/
To revert back, in latest WordPress versions you can simply visit Plugins >> Add new and upload the zip file with the version you’d like to revert back to. WordPress will then ask you whether you’d like to replace the existing version with the one you’ve uploaded.
Kind regards,
PawelHi Pawel/Adam
I have rolled back to v1.15.2 and that has resolved the problem for the time being. I will stay on this version until there is a fix and keep clear of v1.15.4.
Thank you all for your help. This is the first time I have had any issue with this excellent plugin so I hope it gets resolved.
Although the immediate problem is resolved I haven’t marked this issue as resolved as the underlying problem is still there.
Kind regards
DavidHello @dspwpsupport ,
The current version of Forminator is 1.15.7 and the issue is resolved.

KasiaHi,
I have the same issue, the “consent” field doesn’t respond when I click on the cog-wheel to edit it.
https://delasciencealassiette.fr/inscriptions/
I can’t delete it either.
Hello @nomadarod !
I saw you’ve already opened a separate ticket and you’ve been also able to find the source of the issue (Ghostery browser extension). I’ve already replied there as well.
Just replying here in case other users experience a similar issue.
Warm regards,
Pawel
