    Hello @heffendi ,

    I’m sorry about this issue.

That issue was from 2 years ago.
I’ve made a test on my lab site and I wasn’t able to replicate this issue.

Can you export your full form and share it with us via pastebin site or google drive?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hello,

    I have 1drive: https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aiko0ZIoBhrgjapPm6ALMnQoQY-rDw?e=baNkjw

    Form is here: https://www.tt-owners-club.net/events/anmeldung-fuer-hirschessen-2024/

I forked a staging site with WP Staging Pro about three weeks ago, and there Forminator is happy.

Other forms have the same issue, including the one that worked 2023.10.30.

I found the plugin upgraden notice 2023.10.19 to:

    – Forminator (von Version 1.26.0 auf 1.27.0), and today 10 1.28, but same problem.

This is really weird, also since due to the staging site development the changes to the main site were minimal. But then, auto-updater updated many items.

    Still clueless

    Herbert

    Hi @heffendi

    Thank you for response!

To start with, I’ve imported shared form to my own test site and tried to submit it. This worked fine – with consent field set to required and checked on form. Then I also tried to edit the consent field – it also worked and form after edit worked as well.

You mentioned that on staging copy it’s all good and that other forms are working as well and that suggests that the issue is, in some way, specific to the form.

It may mean that something went unexpectedly wrong during some update (“some” because it may have been Forminator update but it may have also been “side-effect” of some other plugin update) and may have unexpectedly mess the form configuraton data in DB.

That’s a “long-shot” but anyway, could you please try simply removing the consent field form that affected form and then:

    – save the form
    – switch it to “draft”
    – clear/purge all cache on site/server (if there is any caching active)
    – add consent again
    – update the form in “draft” status
    – purge all cache again
    – publish the form back and test it again.

This may sound a bit silly but we’ve seen a few similar cases with other fields in the past and such process was helping.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, we’ll see what to do next.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello Adam,

The Internet is weird. I already tried a few things, but not switched it to draft. Thanks for responding.

I have to say I can’t spot any solutions with a WordPress cache. I used: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/

    https://wordpress.com/support/clear-your-sites-cache/

So condensed steps would be (if cached is cleared automatically):

    • remove consent
    • switch my forms to draft
    • wait
    • add consent, save
    • wait
    • publish forms

or is this not needed when there is no wordpress caching, or am I completely off with the articles above?

I hope we can understand what happens

    Hi @heffendi,

I hope you are doing well today!

The process you’ve summarized is almost right.

    1. Remove the consent field from the form
    2. Switch the form to draft
    3. Save the form
    4. Clear all cache on site/server (this is necessary even if you are not using any caching plugins and you can check with your hosting provider for the server side caching mechanism)
    5. Add the consent field back to the form
    6. Save the form while it’s still in draft mode
    7. Clear all cache again
    8. Then, publish the forms back

The articles you have provided for references are good and they guide you well on how to clear cache for WordPress.

I also suggest enabling “Load form using AJAX” and “Prevent page caching on form pages” options under Edit Form->Behavior->Rendering
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#rendering

Please follow these steps and let us know if the issue persists so that we can investigate further.

    Kind regards,
    Zafer

    Hello Zafer,

I changed the options under “Edit Form->Behavior->Rendering” as it was easy to do, and I had find find it anyway.

It turns out the forms are back in working condition after changing the settings. I think this confirms there is something with a web page cache. I suppose it would e sufficient to reset the cache once now at some point as whatever is cached, it is not used anymore!?

Thanks to all who responded and helped to isolate the problem!

    Cheers, Herbert

    Hi @heffendi

I suppose it would e sufficient to reset the cache once now at some point as whatever is cached, it is not used anymore!?

Maybe – but just “maybe”. Caching causes cached content to be “static” so unless you got some indication whether a given page/asset is cached and when exactly, it’s rather hard to say “when” to reset that cache.

On the other hand, if you have “Load form via AJAX” enabled – that should help bypass cache even if the given page (page with the form is cached) and then additionally the “Prevent page caching on form pages” option is expected to actually prevent that page from being cached at all – that is, if the caching solution honors the DONOTCACHE constant. Most well known and established caching plugins do respect it.

So in such case – indeed, simply clearing cache once after those options are enabled, that should suffice.

All in all, if it’s working now, just observe the form for some time and see what happens. There’s a good chance that this solved the issue for good. If not, let us know and we’ll see what more/else could be done.

    Best regards,
    Adam
