• Hi:
I am a first day newbie. Can’t believe how easy it is to get WP up and running.
For my blog, instead of allowing comments, I want to have a form that includes name, email, and suggestions/requests. The form would come to me, and nothing posted on the blog until I post in response to the request.
Can this be done? Plugin? I have zero html coding experience, so if it requires custom code, how best to find someone who could do this?
    Thank you for any suggestions.

This won’t require coding experience – good luck!

    inventorgeorge, welcome to WordPress!!

If I understand your requirements correctly, you want the user to submit the suggestions, it would come to you for approval, and then the suggestions would appear on the site. Is that right? There’s a free plugin I really like called WP Customer Reviews that does exactly that: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-customer-reviews/

If what you’re saying is that you want the user’s comments to be published on your blog as a post – meaning, the comments form the entirety of the post – then it’s more complicated. You can still do it though. I’ve done something similar with a forms plugin called Formidable Pro http://www.formidablepro.com – I’m not certain if you can do all of this with their free version but you could try. There is a learning curve with Formidable though, it can be tricky to go beyond the basics if you’re not that technical. I don’t have any experience with the contact form plugin that yooruu recommended but it’s probably good too!
