Footer text line breaks

i need each name of company on a different line like a list. Needs to look like this:

Plasma Plus is supported by the following fine companies manufacturing scientific instruments:

Shimadzu Corporation, Japan
Leybold, Germany
Milestone, Italy
Heidolph, Germany
Labconco, USA
Kruss, Germany

i understand how the css can be used to apply for listing, but how do i change the html so that i can add the necessary line breaks, etc? in the footer.php file, the footer-copyright-section says “footer_copyright_text” – i’m getting this is operated by functions but should there not be a way for me to customize my footer however i want to? Shouldn’t be too difficult right? Can you help?
