Definitely having this problem too… although it seems now to also be occurring on another site that is 2.8.5. Perhaps something to do with the latest Flash update more than WP?
As a temporary quick-fix this plugin does the job:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/flexupload/
Images are uploaded using the post/page editor options.
Would still be nice to get the integrated flash uploader back!!
Hi fswd
What browser are you using? There’s a post over here (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/chrome-flash-uploader-this-file-is-empty-please-try-another) that suggests it’s an issue with Chrome. I’m just about to try reinstalling too.
Nope – no joy, but it’s certainly not broken in Firefox 4
I’ve given up on it for now to be honest – just taking too much of my time! 🙁
The plugin I mentioned in an earlier post is sufficient compensation until a permanent fix is identified.
Cheers
FYI: Still experiencing this issue and it’s NOT WordPress. I’ve got it in other software on Chrome too – including adding attachments in Gmail. Is Google getting on the anti-flash bandwagon too (a la Apple?)
