Chrome Flash uploader: "This file is empty. Please try another." (5 posts)

A few days ago I started getting this, in Chrome not FF, when I try to use the Flash uploader:

[filename] has failed to upload due to an error
This file is empty. Please try another.

Clearly that's a lying error message :-) because the same file works fine in the browser uploader.

    Other observations:

    • http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ says Flash is already installed.
    • Around the same time (probably exactly the same), Gmail became unable to upload an attachment. It gives no error message but the attaching doesn't happen.

A probably-unrelated item: also sometime this week (sorry I don't know sequence) my bank was trying to solve a login problem and had me delete their settings.sol cookie.

    Help?

Just had this happen to me also, then noticed it was working on chrome on a different computer.

In my case it was apparently an issue with the current chrome beta. I uninstalled chrome, reinstalled as current stable chrome, and all was well.

Fixed. Reinstalled 9.0.597.84 and problem's gone. Thanks, Mark.

(Beta .86 had gone live on Feb 2, right around when the problem started.)

Hard to imagine the Chrome community wouldn't have noticed that gmail attachments were broken!

I have the latest version of Chrome, and upgraded to WP 3.1 so, of course I now get: "This file is empty. Please try another." from the flash uploader.

So, whats the fix? Use an older Chrome version?

Same issue here, it's definitely a chrome thing. Has been around for the last few minor updates of chrome as far as i can tell. Will try an uninstall/reinstall and see if it goes away.
