[Feedback] A better dark mode
-
Hi, I hope you are well.
I’m looking for a better modern admin WordPress theme that support also dark mode.
Your plugin looks nice except this point on my point of view:- Not very nice be prompted to accept terms and conditions and privacy policy for who use the plugin from the WordPress store and without an account. If an account was required I for sure immediately delete the plugin. I dont like plugin that force account. Show the need to accept terms, conditions and privacy mean a lot of time must be spent to read carefully why you ask to accept privacy policy. That can let me think that I need to understand if the plugin record, share in some way data so let me feel not safe. Usually when I install plugins from WordPress store I dont have to accept some kind of particular privacy policies or terms.
- Dark mode should be improved as is not present in the user profile interface, in the editor while creating or editing a page or a post and even in the System Health page of WordPress. Even in the plugin page there are some parts that seems not fully dark and modernized.
For the rest looks an amazing admin theme for WordPress project.
Currently I will not use it because of the terms and privacy that I need evaluate better and for the issues with the Dark Mode. I’m looking for a solution that made the WordPress Admin fully Dark mode compatibile. With WordPress 7.0 this has been broken as many plugin that are present on the WordPress plugin store now has the editor are no more covered by the dark mode and I really dont like this.Amazing plugin but I thought about to share my finding while testing your nice admin theme plugin 🙂
Also opening a details about a plugin is showing the plugin description not using the dark mode.

Hello @peopleinside ,
Thank you so much for taking the time to test YOOAdmin and share such detailed feedback, we genuinely appreciate it.
Your point of view is completely understandable, especially regarding the terms/privacy acceptance flow. We understand how this can create concerns for users installing plugins directly from the WordPress repository without creating an account.
Because of feedback like yours, we are already improving this experience. The terms and license agreement will be limited only to license-related functionality and not to the general usage of the plugin itself.
We also completely agree regarding Dark Mode coverage. Improving dark mode compatibility across more WordPress admin areas, especially the editor, user profile areas, System Health, and plugin details modal, is currently one of our active priorities.
We are already working on major improvements for the editor experience, and version 1.5.4 should be released today or tomorrow with several improvements related to the issues you mentioned.
We would truly love for you to try the new version once it is available and continue sharing your thoughts and feedback with us.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for trying YOOAdmin. Comments like yours genuinely help us improve the project in the right direction 🙂
Best regards,
RamiHi, this is a lovely comment and news. I will be happy to test the new version.
Have a great day and time 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂 We really appreciate your feedback and willingness to test the upcoming version.
Regarding the dark mode issue you mentioned with the plugin details popup not being fully dark, could you let us know which specific plugin you tested this with? We would love to reproduce the issue on our side and improve compatibility for it as well.
Many WordPress plugins unfortunately do not fully support dark mode natively, especially inside custom admin components and editor-related interfaces. Even so, we are continuously working on extending YOOAdmin compatibility and improving dark mode support across as many plugins and WordPress admin areas as possible.
Your feedback has been genuinely helpful for us.
thank you again for taking the time to share it 🙂Just go on the WordPress plugin page and on new plugin list or existent plugin press the details official WordPress link. The pop up that WordPress show to made you read details about plugin is not fully dark 🙂
Thank you for clarifying
Yes, we understand exactly what you mean now. We actually already improved this experience inside the YOOAdmin Plugin Manager in the Extended version, which is currently completely free.
For the WordPress.org repository version, we try to stay closer to the default WordPress experience and avoid replacing some core plugin management interfaces too aggressively in order to remain compatible with WordPress.org guidelines and expectations.
That said, we are still actively improving the original WordPress plugin details popup, dark mode coverage, and overall compatibility across the default admin experience as much as possible. Several improvements related to this are already being worked on for upcoming updates.
Thank you again for reporting this and helping us improve the experience
Hello @peopleinside,
Version 1.5.4 has just been released and includes many improvements related to the issues you reported, especially around dark mode compatibility, editor coverage, plugin page, and admin UI consistency.
We also simplified the setup wizard experience and removed the mandatory terms acceptance step during onboarding.
Your reports genuinely helped improve this update, and we added a small thank-you mention in the changelog credits as well.
We really appreciate the time you spent testing YOOAdmin and sharing your findings.
Best Regards,Rami
Thank you very much! As soon I can I will see the update 🙂 I have also to find an alternative to Gutenberg editor as the new WordPress 7.0 is creating a big issue with my existing articles and content. I have to look also to that issue that is not relative to this plugin.
Hi, this is my feedback about the version 1.5.4
What I really like:
– The setup Wizard is now more easy no Terms or Privacy to read and accept. This allineate the install experience to many other plugin on the WordPress store. Setup is more easy now and give less concerns.
– Amazing work on creating a new post or page, now the dark mode is fully working. Some issue still present and new issues discovered while testing:
– The page that list all plugin has some elements that not support the dark mode: drop down menu and the top and down bar are white not fully dark. There are a small issue also on plugin details if a text is in the banner.
– Select more plugin then click action deactivate seems is not working with your plugin active.
– Site health need improvement on dark mode
– When using third part plugin dark mode is no more supported for that plugin, this maybe need an improvement or the real user experience will be not full dark mode interface
– will be nice to be able to white label and customize also footer of your pluginI made a small video that will available for the next days here.
Thank you!
Thank you so much again for the detailed video and testing
The video was genuinely very helpful for us and contained many valuable observations and improvement ideas. We will absolutely do our best to improve and resolve as many of these issues as possible in upcoming updates. We also noticed that some features may have been missed during testing, which is completely understandable since YOOAdmin now includes many workspace customization options.
For example, inside Workspace Edit Mode you can fully customize the workspace layout, move plugins between sections using drag and drop, move cards between sections, and even hide the right widget area entirely. These features are explained during the interactive onboarding tour shown after installation, but it is possible the welcome popup and tour were skipped during setup
Regarding the default WordPress dashboard widgets, we currently do not fully support the original WordPress widgets because many of them visually conflict with the Studio Hub workspace design and dark mode system. Instead, we created a developer-friendly system and documentation that allows plugin developers to integrate properly with YOOAdmin using custom sections and Edit Mode compatibility.
About the tooltip/banner behavior at the top of the page, the current design is intentional because we want users to be able to quickly access the related settings page and optionally convert these admin banners into notifications instead of showing them directly in the workspace. However, we completely agree that the close icon should also properly support dark mode and we will improve this.
Regarding the original WordPress homepage/dashboard, there is also an option inside YOOAdmin settings that allows users to open the default WordPress dashboard instead of the YOOAdmin workspace homepage when clicking Home.
And finally, regarding global dark mode support, we are honestly very happy to receive feedback like yours. Studio Hub and the new dark mode system were introduced recently in version 1.5 and are still actively evolving. Feedback like this is extremely valuable during development and genuinely helps us improve compatibility and overall user experience across WordPress admin areas.
There were also many other important points mentioned in your video that we noted internally and will continue improving over time.
Thank you again for all the effort and time you spent testing YOOAdmin and sharing such detailed feedback with us
Thank you, lovely message from you.
Currently also if I like your plugin is still not ready for me as it gives dark mode only to WordPress core. I use many other plugins and I dont like to have not a dark mode that work almost everywhere.
I dont think that will be all other plugin to adapt to yours.
The solution that I use right now work almost for all plugin where the dark mode is showed not only for core WordPress pages.I give this as feedback.
The real scenario for me is that I like your plugin but as I use almost always the dark mode this will not work well for me. Maybe with the time you can or will find a way to support a better compatibility. I really dont think all WordPress plugin will adapt to yours consulting the documentation just to support your dark mode flow.Have a nice time and time and great plugin!
I think WordPress need some plugin that made a better admin interface.Thank you again for the honest feedback
I think there may have been a small misunderstanding in my previous message. What I meant was specifically the original WordPress dashboard widgets and workspace integration system, not dark mode support in general.
Dark mode compatibility is actually one of our highest priorities right now. We are actively working on improving global dark mode coverage across more WordPress admin areas and third-party plugins so the experience feels much more consistent overall.
Your feedback and video were extremely valuable for us because they highlighted real-world usage scenarios beyond core WordPress pages, especially for users who rely on dark mode daily across many plugins.
In fact, the team already started working on several improvements based directly on your feedback, including broader dark mode compatibility enhancements, and another update is already planned for today or tomorrow 🙂
We completely understand your point that users should not have to depend on third-party developers adapting everything manually just to have a consistent dark mode experience. This is something we are actively trying to improve progressively with each update.
Thank you again for all the time, testing, and detailed observations. Feedback like yours genuinely helps shape the future direction of YOOAdmin
Just a quick update
Version 1.5.5 is being released today and includes the first version of a new dark mode compatibility engine we recently built for YOOAdmin.
The system is designed to automatically detect and adapt many interface colors across WordPress admin areas and third-party plugins to create a much more consistent dark mode experience overall.
In our current testing, it already improves compatibility across a very large number of plugins and covers most common interface scenarios automatically. We are still actively improving and expanding it further, and it will continue receiving updates and refinements in the coming days and future releases.
Your feedback and detailed testing genuinely had a big impact on this development direction because maintaining a good experience for users like you who rely heavily on dark mode is very important to us.
We would be very happy to hear your thoughts once you test the new update 🙂
Nice news and job, thank you for the info 🙂
Waiting the new version to test I also report that with Hestia Theme there are a few issue, one of this caused by the Hestia Theme.
First issue is that admin custom menu looks bad on Hestia but I think this is an issue about how Hestia manage banners. I reported different weeks ago this to the Hestia theme but is not fixed, maybe I will try to report again.
The second issue happen only with Hestia theme active and your plugin active.
When going on Apparence Customize the customize page of the theme or WordPress did not load (Customize.php) and browser get frozen.Version 1.5.5 is now officially live on WordPress.org
