Feed update doesn’t work
-
Hi,
I have 285 sources. Everything was working very well before the version change.
Since a few weeks, none of the feeds are updating automatically, but it works if I click on “Fetch” for each feed individually. Two examples:
http://www.filae.com/ressources/blog/ (no updates since January 27, triggered by my manual click)
https://www.rfgenealogie.com/ (no updates since January 27, triggered by my manual click)All the feeds are displayed on my page:
https://www.genealogiepratique.fr/geneactu-flux-actualite-genealogique/On this page, you can see that some sources are not displayed at all, while others appear only very sporadically.
How can I fixe that ?Have a nice day.

Hi Laurent,
Thanks for reaching out, and for the detailed explanation.
From what you described, this may be related to one or more sources encountering errors during the automatic update process. When a source has a problem, it will usually show a “!” icon next to it in Aggregator → Sources. If one or more sources are repeatedly failing, it can sometimes interrupt or slow down the automatic import process for other sources.
Since you mentioned that manually clicking Fetch works, it suggests that the feeds themselves are still accessible, but something in the automatic process may be getting blocked by problematic sources.
Could you please try the following?
- Go to Aggregator → Sources.
- Check if any of the sources show a “!” icon (indicating an error).
- If you find any sources with errors, try pausing those sources temporarily.
- After that, wait for the next automatic update cycle and see if the other feeds begin updating normally again.
With 285 sources, even a few problematic feeds can sometimes affect the overall update process, so identifying and pausing the ones with errors can help stabilize the automatic updates.
Please let us know what you find, and we’ll be happy to assist further if needed.
Hi and thank you for your answer.
I have now paused the sources with the “!” icon. I come back in a few hours with results.
Have a nice day,
LaurentHi Laurent,
Thanks for the update! That sounds good.
Let’s see how things go over the next few hours now that the sources with the “!” icon are paused. If those problematic feeds were interrupting the process, the automatic updates should start running normally again.
Please let us know how it goes.
Hi,
This morning, I can confirm that it is still not working.
Yesterday, I manually forced a fetch on a few sources. The updates were successfully processed at that time as we can see here: https://www.genealogiepratique.fr/geneactu-flux-actualite-genealogique/
But since then, nothing: “Last updated: 18 hours ago” (see the picture).
Oooops,
ONE source has been updated… https://mamakos-creations.wixsite.com/fil-du-temps one minute ago???Hi Laurent,
Thank you for the update.
I also noticed your note that one source was updated automatically. That is helpful information, as it suggests that the scheduler may still be running, but it may not be processing all sources consistently.
Since manually clicking Fetch works correctly but most feeds are not updating automatically, it would be useful to check whether the scheduled tasks responsible for automatic imports are running properly on your site.
Could you please install the WP Crontrol plugin and then do the following?
- Go to Tools → Cron Events in your WordPress dashboard.
- Use the search field and look for events containing the keyword “wpra”.
- Take a full-page screenshot of that page and share it with us.
A full-page screenshot would be helpful so we can also see if there are any notices or warnings related to cron events.
Once we have that information, we should be able to narrow down the cause more accurately.
Hi Hendra,
Here is the screenshot.
Hi Laurent,
Thank you for sharing the screenshot.
From what I can see, there are two
wpra.updatecron events listed there. Normally, there should only be one. Having duplicate scheduled events can sometimes interfere with the automatic update process, which may explain why the feeds are not updating consistently.Could you please try the following steps?
- In Tools → Cron Events, locate the two entries named
wpra.update. - Tick the checkbox next to both of them.
- In the Bulk actions dropdown above the table, select Delete.
- Click Apply.
This will reset the scheduled event. After deleting them, Aggregator will automatically recreate the
wpra.updateevent, and under normal conditions, there should only be one entry.Once this is done, please allow some time for the next scheduled run and check whether the feeds start updating automatically again.
Let me know how it goes, and we will be happy to continue investigating if needed.
Hi Hendra,
I deleted the two entries named wpra.update yesterday morning. I confirm that there is now only one entry left (see the attached image).

However, the RSS feeds that I want to follow and display are still not updating.
Hi Laurent,
Thank you for the update, and I appreciate your continued troubleshooting on this.
Could you please double check once more in Aggregator → Sources to see if there are any remaining sources showing a “!” icon? Even a few problematic sources can sometimes affect how the automatic updates run.
Once you’re sure that all sources are in good condition, could you try the following:
- Manually click Fetch on 2 or 3 sources
- Then wait for the next scheduled cycle
- Check whether those specific sources continue to update automatically afterward
This will help us determine whether the issue is affecting all sources globally or only certain ones.
Please let me know what you find, and we’ll take it from there.
Hello,
I followed your instructions on March 17. Since then, only two posts have been updated on feeds that I had not manually reactivated.
What should I do now?
Best regards,
LaurentHi Laurent,
Thank you for your continued patience and for taking the time to go through all the troubleshooting steps with us. We really appreciate your cooperation throughout this process.
At this point, we’ve identified that the issue with automatic feed updates is related to a problem on our side. Our team is actively working on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming version of Aggregator.
In the meantime, we understand this is not ideal, especially with the number of sources you’re managing, and we truly appreciate your patience while we work on resolving this.
We’ll keep you informed as soon as the fix is released. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions in the meantime.
