Hi, we recommend uploading image with size of at least 620×315 pixels and WordPress will resize it automatically as required.
For old images you don’t need to resize them manually. You can use plugin like Force Regenerate thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

I have just followed your suggestion and installed and activated the Force Regenerate plug in.
Do I need to do something to make it work?
All the photos are still the same size as they were before and do not look good in the theme….
