FB counter is wrong
-
So let’s put is straight, the plugin UI and UX are pretty damn good and it was much more fun to set up compared to their rivals.
However one thing you notice after you are done is that all Facebook counters appear at much lower count than they used to be with any other sharing plugin used.
Why’s that? It’s not because they are completely wrong, no, just unlike others SumoMe doesn’t combine FB likes and Shares. So why is this bad? Because we (end users) don’t care about actual Likes and actual Shares we only care about a striking number to indicate page popularity and trustworthy.
You can switch to FB Likes counter they say. Nope, that one is horrible from both UX (for it shows a modal with actual FB like button) and marketing standpoint.
Whoever made that decision in SumoMe to follow FB separate Share and Like counters logics clearly didn’t think about why people want their plugin in the first place.
