We are using a automatic backup service on a multi-site, and we are experiencing difficulties. Everytime our backup service tries to connect to the connection plugin on our website, it displays an error.

Fatal Error (E_ERROR): Call to undefined function icl_xml2array() occurred in wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/inc/class-wcml-dependencies.php on line 244. Please make sure that your website is accessible.

Already had support from the backup service, and they told me to de-activate all plugins and activate one by one untill this error occurs. I did, and it occurs when I activate Woocommerce Multilingual. As the error syntax also shows.

Any idea on how I can solve this? Only way to succesfully backup is to deactivate the Woocommerce multilingual plugin, and that’s not really optimal for website uptime.

  • Hello,
Can you give me more information about the backup service that you are using? What exactly are you using for backup?
Before I offer any possible solution, I need to get to the bottom of the problem and in an ideal case – to have it reproduced locally. This is why I need more details on how I can reproduce this issue so that we fix this not only for you by hacking the code but to fix it permanently.
