The instructions for Fancybox contain a list of Stats services incompatibilities with Google Analytics, All in One SEO, Slimstat, …

I use Matomo/Piwik and it seems that the Download Tracking may have similar issue.
Is there a specific recommendation for Matomo to avoid tracking Downloads that are only clicks to an image that shows the Fancybox?
Matomo does not have an option for “Do Not Track” in Downloads Tracking, but it has options to ignoreClasses.

  • Hi, you could try to add fancybox to the classes to ignore…

@ravanh All in One SEO Pack dev here. What is the incompatibility? Anything we can do on our end?

Hi @hallsofmontezuma if I remember correctly, the reported incompatibility with AiOSEO was outbound (or media?) link tracking. It broke the light box action when clicking a media link even if that file was on the same domain.

The OP here has this issue apparently with Matomo download tracking where the click on a media link (that should open the file in a light box) is seen as a click to download, breaking the light box effect…

Not sure if the current version of AiOSEO has the same incompatibility still, though.

Hi @ravanh, I just tested the current version of AIOSEOP with Easy FancyBox and confirmed that our Google Analytics code does not break the lightbox action for images or YouTube videos. Please let us know if you do find any compatibility issues.

Hi @wpsmort thanks for the update. Did you test that with all “click/download/outbound link tracking” enabled? If so, I’ll happily remove the incompatibility notice from the readme 🙂

@ravanh It works just fine for me when I enable outbound link tracking. It works when checking every checkbox for our GA.
If you find an incompatibility just open a Github issue and we’ll take a look. https://github.com/semperfiwebdesign/all-in-one-seo-pack/
