facebook counter

Hi, i’m using jetpack from two years.
About a year ago the facebook counter began to always show a low number in the counter compared with like real numbers that I see on facebook. For example if I share a page in a variety of facebook groups and i get 100 likes the counter will always show a lower number.
I do not think it’s a jetpack problem but is facebook, I would like to understand better what happens. thank you
