It’s literally listed in your Security Certified list of apps, yet it throws 19 malware infections on a CleanTalk Security scan.

Honestly, what the heck?

Please, let’s get the story straight. Is it Security Certified, or is it infected with Malware?

Please if I need to issue a Malware removal request.

Hello,

As far as I can see, only the 8.3.0 version of the EWWW Image Optimizer was Security Certified. The current version of the plugin is 8.7.4. Regarding the detected malware files. Most likely, these are false positives. However, I will ask our security team to check them. We will contact you within 1-2 business days.

We’ve made some changes so that our scanner no longer falsely flags files from the ewww-image-optimizer plugin. All the changes made will be included in the next official release.

Please install the Security plugin from this archive: https://github.com/CleanTalk/security-malware-firewall/releases/download/fix-version/security-malware-firewall.zip. You can download the plugin and replace the current version with it, or first uninstall the old version and then install the fixed one according to our guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/update-wordpress-security (Manual Update section). If you chose to replace the existing files, go to the Malware Scanner tab afterwards, click “Clear scan results” under Scan log, and run a new scan.

Let us know if your issue has indeed been resolved.
