Error sharing Twitter
-
On Twitter the link to the entry replaced by a link to the image. The summary also disappeared. Only in entries with featured image
URl to perform tests: https://www.almendron.com/tribuna/mas-europa-y-mas-estados/
URL Twitter: https://twitter.com/BlogAlmendron
Card validator: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validatorView image comparing “Card validator” and Twitter.
Insert URl manually in Twiiter: correct. View image. So, I think it’s a JetPack problem.

We do send out an image with the Tweet when an image is present, rather than using a Twitter Card, because third-party Twitter apps do not display Twitter Cards, so we’ve found higher engagement on these image-included Tweets instead.
June 5 works well. On June 6, link and summary disappeared: image.

In that case, either the June 5 post was not publicized with an image, or that was shared manually.
Jetpack’s Twitter Publicize has always worked as described in the earlier reply.
Negative. All posts with a date before June 6 with a featured image are displayed well.
Jun 2: https://twitter.com/BlogAlmendron/status/1135091476319354881
Today: https://twitter.com/BlogAlmendron/status/1149741195805036544 (link and summary disappeared)
The two posts published automatically with module “Publicize”.
All I can say is, for the history of Jetpack, we have absolutely never used Twitter Cards when an
og:imagetag is present in the post, which usually means the post has _any_ available image. If you’re seeking Jetpack to always use Twitter Cards, we cannot provide that at this time, because we intentionally do not whenever an image is present in the post.
Anything that turns out otherwise either means there was no image in the post, or some other plugin conflicted with Jetpack, or the posts were not shared via Jetpack.
The problem is not the cards. It was just an example.
Before: image and summary with a link to the post
Now: image with link to that image. Summary disappeared. You can see it in the JetPack account on Twitter
View image (The two posts published automatically with module “Publicize”)
The summary is part of the Twitter Card itself.
Jetpack’s sharing formula to Twitter has always been:
Title – Link – Image (from the og:image tag)
If you want to add more content to what is sent to Twitter, you have to manually add your own custom excerpt: https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/#adding-excerpts
Again, anything that otherwise includes a Twitter Card or a summary you did not specifically add means there was no image in the post, some other plugin conflicted with Jetpack, or the posts were not shared via Jetpack.
Negative. Something change. Probably in version 7.4
Before June 5, all posts with “featured image”: Title – Link – Image – summary. Image + summary = link to the post.
You can check it at https://twitter.com/BlogAlmendron
And please, look at the image.
All my posts are published automatically with the module “Publicize” for a long time.
I can assure you, I’ve been supporting and contributing to Jetpack’s development for the past 5 years, and using Jetpack since it launched 8 years ago.
We ran a test with Twitter Cards for less than a day, engagement dropped, we stopped the test and haven’t gone back since.
What you are seeing today is _normal_ Jetpack Publicize-to-Twitter behavior. We send the title of the post, the link to the post, and any image declared by an og:image tag in the post (which is either established by us as the featured image or next largest image in the post, or by any other plugin that sets OpenGraph tags).
Again, anything that otherwise includes a Twitter Card or a summary you did not specifically add means there was no image in the post, some other plugin conflicted with Jetpack, or the posts were not shared via Jetpack.
I don’t know what else to add here except to re-affirm that what you are seeing today is normal Jetpack behavior, and I have many more years of experience in what normal Jetpack behavior is.
You are wrong. How do you explain it?

Have you seen my Twitter before June 4?
Let’s do a test. Tell me another site that uses the Publicize module and we look at your Twitter
Or mount a test site with version 7.3 and check.
I have seen your Tweets, and have explained why they are the way they are repeatedly:
Again, anything that otherwise includes a Twitter Card or a summary you did not specifically add means there was no image in the post, some other plugin conflicted with Jetpack, or the posts were not shared via Jetpack.
You’re welcome to look at my own site https://macmanx.com/ and Twitter https://twitter.com/MacManX if you truly wish to compare.
I don’t feel this discussion is moving forward in a productive manner. So long as you don’t at least accept our knowledge of how our own product works, I don’t see how we will ever be able to provide you with a satisfactory answer.
1) no image in the post: false
2) some other plugin conflicted with Jetpack: false. I have done tests with all plugins disabled
3) posts were not shared via Jetpack : false
Your site does not serve as an example. There is no post with images (horizontal)
Maybe Twitter has changed something, but your product does not work as before.
I will try to find other sites to show examples.
Your site does not serve as an example. There is no post with images (horizontal)
False. Every post on my site, unless it contains only a video, has an image. The posts with just cover images are stored as featured images.
Maybe Twitter has changed something, but your product does not work as before.
False. Nothing has changed in our product with regards to this for several years.
Since you insist on working from the premise that we are either lying to you, or that you know more about our product than we (the people who built it) do, I see no further way forward with this support request and will mark it as resolved.
Your opinion that Jetpack works a certain way does not change the fact that it doesn’t.
I’m sorry, but we’ll have to consider this matter resolved, as I’m not sure how you expect us to help you if your premise is that you know more about our own product than we do.

Can you explain it?https://www.almendron.com/compartir/jetpack/error-sharing-twitter-d.jpg
Can you explain it?The link and the image do not lie.
The reality is that something has changed.
