Error: Account token is missing.
-
I am trying to configure the Google Analytics plug in. I have made sure that I am logged in to the correct Google account. I have tried logging out of my Google account. I have deactivated and uninstalled the plug in, reinstalled and activated and am still receiving the same error message. The site health status is good as well. I am running WordPress 5.4.2 with Site Kit Google Version 1.13.1. Thank you for your help!

I was able to successfully click the enable button beside other plug ins and didn’t receive and error message. When I attempted to click the disable button beside Site Kit, I received another error message. Here is a screenshot:

Many thanks for sharing. From inspecting your site once more I noticed you don’t have a redirection in place ensuring all visitors access your secure site (https).
Can you check with your hosting provider or enable a redirection plugin to ensure all traffic is served as https before attempting Analytics setup once more?
Does this not mean my site is secure? https://drive.google.com/file/d/10gA27H4-UvzcWwOc3IYV8CRzp4k5t9RJ/view?usp=sharing
I did go back into Bluehost to make sure and it is toggled on. I am seeing the https at the beginning. Am I doing something wrong? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rlYIqk-ntmgGELVljXTEeRD2v9a839Bs/view?usp=sharing

You are correct, you have a secure site. Previously I was able to access your site via http (the non secure version). This seems to be corrected now with all traffic being secure.
In order to troubleshoot your case further can you try and switch off the caching feature? After doing so from a browser incognito window once more please inform me if you encounter the same issue when trying to setup Analytics using following both scenarios below:
- When selecting an existing Analytics account
- When trying to create a new Analytics account from within Site Kit
Should I open the incognito window and switch off the cache (from the incognito window)? Or switch off the cache in my regular window and then open the incognito? I just want to make sure I do it correctly! Thank you SO much for your help!
Sure, we’re happy to help. Appreciate your troubleshooting efforts, others may also be encountering the same issue so it’s always good to determine the cause.
Should I open the incognito window and switch off the cache
You can switch off caching before opening the browser incognito window and then attempting Analytics setup in both scenarios.

I switched off and tried in an incognito and regular window and still received the error message.
Sorry to hear that didn’t work. Can you inform me if you’re able to select an existing Analytics account as opposed to creating one within the plugin Analytics module? If so you could manually create an account and property within analytics.google.com before selecting that same property in Site Kit.
Let me know if that works for you, or if you have any queries.
This is what it prompts me to when I attempt to set it up. Is there a way to go around this?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RdJbP95JoqsmalT_zdZ-DWtz6SLXYBoR/view?usp=sharingThanks for going to the trouble of creating a video, very useful. From viewing it seems the connected Google account linked to your site may not have a Analytics account already setup.
Using a browser incognito window once more can you access Analytics directly using the same email you’ve used to setup Site Kit & Analytics? From there please setup an Analytics account which you can use. To confirm the correct Google account you’ll see the profile in the top right of your Site Kit dashboard.
AWESOME!!! It works! Thank you so much for your patience and help James!!
Excellent, many thanks for your persistence on this, and in particular sharing the video. We’ll have a better understanding should others also encounter this issue.
If you are making use of the plugin we’d also love to hear your feedback in the form of a review.
