Try waiting several seconds after pageload before clicking on the shortcode button. Try looking at your browser console for js errors. Try disabling other plugins to see if it’s a conflict.
I am also having a simular issue. with the shortcode generator.
First off, I want to say that this plugin is amazing! I have been using it for several months now and can’t say enough about it.
Here is the problem I am having now.
When I click on the FA icon the generator pops up and I am able use the first dropdown box “Select Shortcode.” This will auto load the next drop down “Select Type,” If I select “Sorted List” it gives me the form as usual. However, if I select “Sortable Data Table” nothing happens. Any ideas why this is happening? If I click on “Insert Shortcode” nothing happens, except if trying to insert a “Sorted List.”
I have used the plugin before to create “Sortable Data Tables” and never had an issue.
I also tried using different browsers and computers with the same result.
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated! I am planning on relying heavily on File Away in the next version of my website.
Selecting Sortable Data Table brings up the shortcode options instantly for me, in the latest version of WordPress and File Away. I’m not sure what your issue is, but it sounds like it’s specific to your setup. Try disabling other plugins and then doing the shortcode generator, to pinpoint any problem plugins. I won’t be able to troubleshoot it if I can’t duplicate your issue.
Thanks for your quick response. I went through my plugins and found the culprit. I had updated to the newest version of Visual Composer (4.6).
Very strange. Not sure what the conflict is, but when Visual Composer is activated, the “Sortable Data Tables” and much of the other shortcode generators will not show up. After playing around with it, only the “Sorted List”, and the “Download Stats” work with Visual Composer activated.
Visual composer must be interfering with ordinary TinyMCE plugin stuff then somehow. I don’t own Visual Composer so I can’t test.
