• I used this excellent plugin to add an embedded timeline to my homepage.

I selected the light theme, and an appropriate link and border color to match my website.

Once I created timeline widget I added the following side client side changes:
data-chrome=”no header nofooter noborders noscrollbar transparent”
    data-tweet-limit=”2″

The twitter feed is styled very nicely at this point, except it doesn’t use the default font that is used on my site.

I have read through developer forum articles on the twitter community and help articles on dev.twitter.com.

    Here is my question:

“Is it possible to change the timeline widget to use the default font-family of my website?”

I have read that it is only possible to do this type of styling if I use a third party twidget that pulls in my tweets using the Twitter API.

But since you have made a great plugin here I thought I would first check if you have any tips for changing the font family.

The embedded Timeline widget renders inside an iframe element with styles applied within. Styling properties defined on the parent page, such as those in the Twitter plugin for WordPress, are passed to Twitter’s widgets JavaScript to match site styling.

The font used to render text in a Tweet is not one of the customization options. The embedded Timeline widget selects a font based on the language of a Tweet, with different fonts for English, Hebrew, Japanese, etc.

Thanks for the reply. This is a great plugin and I always like the chance to use a plugin that is made by the company of the service you are displaying. (In this case Twitter makes a Twitter WP plugin)

I do understand that this is not currently a customization option. This is unfortunate that Twitter does not allow this. When you put a lot of effort into font choices you naturally want the same look throughout your site.

In my view it would be great to have the option for the font to inherit whatever the existing font and size default is.

But nonetheless thank you for making an overall excellent plugin!

I love the plugin, but I really hope to have more options regarding font family and size, line-height and so on. On my website I have blog feed, facebook feed and twitter feed on the first page and I don’t like different kind of style on the feeds. :-/
