Email notifications based on custom user meta data

    Is there any chance there’s a way to pull this together with the plugin? My needs are seemingly simple: I want users to be able to set a field in their profile to whether or not they receive a notification.

    Right now, I have a manual process workaround where I can fairly easily export the user meta data and create the email list offline. Unfortunately, I can’t paste in more than one email address in the Notifications “Send To” field so it’s very tedious to manage lists.

    Hi @atlaspolicy,
    Thanks for your message.

    Sending email based on the value of a custom field (rather than when a custom field is merely updated) is on the roadmap for the Custom Fields add-on however, this will be limited to post meta as opposed to user meta.

    Thanks for the reply, Jack, but unfortunately, this wouldn’t help me, because I’m speaking about per-user settings. I could have a per-user post, but that would be as tedious to manage as my current process.

    Is it possible for the plugin to support “pasting” in more than one email address into the “Send To” field? Right now, you have to do it one at a time.

    Hi @atlaspolicy,
    I’m investigating pasting into that box as an addition to BNFW however, in the meantime, are you referring to email addresses or usernames / user roles?

    That could be helpful if you support pasting in more than one email address at a time. For my needs, I’m only using corresponding with registered users on the site.

    Hi @atlaspolicy,
    In that case, you’ll want to be pasting in usernames instead of email addresses, unless their usernames are their email addresses of course!

    Yes, they are the same. But pasting more than one username shouldn’t work at this point, right?
