    Hi guys,

    I was wondering if it would be possible to develop Email Notifications for the Ajax Calendar?

    For example, would it be possible for each of the users with the Calendar Contributer role to be notified by email each time there is a new booking made (or a change to an existing booking)?

    Maybe these emails could be configured in the settings section as well?

    I was not planning on adding this feature to the calendar, but am interested in your ultimate need for this request.

    In most cases, email is an inefficient and often disruptive way to distribute potentially large quantities of notifications, and I have significant reservations about contributing to the already horrifying statistic: 90% of email sent daily is spam.

    If you explain the motivation behind why you want to notify your users of event changes together we may be able to uncover a less invasive solution to address your needs.

    Hi Eran,

    I’m part of a light aircraft ownership group with 5 members. I am building a site to help us communicate more easily about the state of the aircraft, and to share video/images etc of our adventures.

    As part of this project, I thought it might be possible to build some sort of booking system for the 5 of us to use; something which will help others to see when the aircraft is being used etc.

    As each member currently flies about twice per month each, there wouldn’t be a great deal of email traffic, and it would be of interest to all 5 members.

    Hope that explains the motivation? And if you could suggest an alternative solution, then I would be most grateful.

    Thanks for the explanation, I believe the same result can be accomplished with an RSS feed. Furthermore, would be faster for me to develop and for you to manage.

    This feature is planned for the next version of the plugin, due in about 3 weeks.

    If you feel this will not be sufficient, one of the other WordPress calendar plugins may better accommodate your needs.

    Hi Eran,

    I’ve installed your Ajax Events Calendar and would like contributors to be able to submit events to a moderation queue before they are posted. Is there an option that allows me to monitor event posts before they are displayed? Or if not, it would be fantastic if you would consider adding this as an option?! Otherwise, as an administrator, can I at least be emailed when posts on the calendar occur?
