Can you please show a screenshot of what you see? See: https://wordpress.org/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#adding-screenshots

Yes – this is what I am now seeing. I have also tried different browsers and clearing browsers.

Sorry, but what are you referring to? Unfortunately, I don’t see a screenshot from you.

We’re seeing the same thing. The visual editor is broken after upgrading to 6.8.

Rolling back to 6.7.2 resolves the issue.

How were you able to roll back after updating? We have also updated to the 6.8 version already.

In your screenshot I see the block editor in which some plugin or your theme has added a box called “Page Layout”. This takes up almost the entire space in the editor in your screenshot, which of course looks unattractive.

In my opinion, you have the following options to solve this:

    • Collapse the box at the bottom using the up arrow that you see in the top right-hand corner. This makes the box much smaller and the content of the editor can be seen again.
    • Or click on the 3 dots at the top right, then on Preferences. There you will find a section “Advanced” where you can select which plugins are allowed to be visible in the editor. Deactivate here the plugin which is responsible for “Page Layout”. Then you have much more space again.
    • Or find the plugin that complements this “Page Layout” and deactivate it. Of course, this could also be essential for your website. If necessary, it would be worthwhile for you to contact the support of this plugin and ask for help with the display of this box.

If you would like to optimize the block editor, you are welcome to submit it to the Gutenberg team: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues
