A question and some advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a site I manage that I’m in the process of moving from Drupal to WordPress. WP I know fairly well but the database piece I’m new with and the moving from one CMS to another.

I need to recreate two directories that are now on the site…one for Summer Camps and the other a general Resources listings.

The question is how to get the data from Drupal to WP (2000 or so entries for resources and 50-60 for camps)

I’ve been looking at Gravity Forms in conjunction with Gravity Views and from talking to the Views guy we could have the 2 forms and use his plugin for the display of listings, search forms, etc. So couple hundred bucks for plugins.

We would need, according to him, to “As long as you use Gravity Forms entries as the source of the data, you can use whatever plugin you want to display the entries (Gravity Forms Directory, GravityView, etc). If the data is imported as something other than Gravity Forms entries, then it will not work properly.”

Does this seem like a plan? The issue for me, I can forsee, is the import and matching tables/entries from Drupal to WP. Is this possible with this plugin? issues you forsee?

    Thanks,

  • This would require knowing how to map fields the right way. This would depend on the type of data you are planning on using.

The best way to do this would be to use a custom post type (or more if needed) then create templates in order to show the data exactly the way you want to.

If you need help, I can steer you in the right direction in order to use this amazing plugin.

500 Internal Server Error (aka HTTP 500 error) is a generic error suggesting a problem with the website’s server, dont think because of plugin. Can you verify that first?
