Support » Plugin: IBM Watson Assistant » Does not work and no support at all

  • I subscribed to a paid version. Set up a service with IBM and created a container on their website as per instructions. I installed the plugin and entered the requested information. No matter how it always says I need to enter correct credentials (that was easy to find on their website when I manage my container). I have made two support tickets only to find that they are being deleted without any notification. It does not seem to be any other way to get in contact with their support (despite I gave them my credit card).

    Hello AlwaysEnthusiast,

    We’re sorry for your difficulties in setting up the plugin. If your support tickets have been deleted, it was not done by us.

    If you could provide us with the exact error message, we’d be happy to help you. Also, on the page where you obtained your service credentials, what is the Workspace URL?

    Thanks for your patience,
    Cognitive Class

    Thank you for replying. I appreciate that! I created two support tickets in your support system here: https://control.bluemix.net/support/unifiedConsole/tickets/add
    Your system stated they were recieved but the next day they were gone and no comments.

    I follow these instructions to find the details I need to enter: https://console.bluemix.net/docs/services/watson/getting-started-credentials.html#service-credentials-for-watson-services
    When I click on view credentials I see for my service:
    {
    “url”: “https://gateway-fra.watsonplatform.net/conversation/api”,
    “username”: “(hidden)”,
    “password”: “(hidden)”
    }
    I replaced my username and password with hidden (because I don’t want to show it here on the WordPress forum). I paste this information in the requested boxes in the WordPress plugin.

    I then copy the Workspace ID from another place:
    https://watson-conversation.eu-de.bluemix.net/eu-de/(hidden)/workspaces
    (I changed my id to hidden in the url above). Hence, this is found when I look at my workspaces in your system. It is a long and complicated work space id following the format your plugin suggest.

    When everything is entered and I click save your plugin respond with this message:
    “Please ensure you entered a valid URL and that you have a workspace with that Workspace ID.” (and at the same time it erases what I entered). I have done this many times, always with the same result. I am running the latest version of your plugin (tried this with the previous version but that did not work either).

    I can mention that I also tried entering the Workspace id for your example workspace: “Car Dashboard – Sample” but that resulted in exactly the same error message. Hence, I don’t think my personal workspace is corrupt (though currently not very developed but that is a later story if I get this working).

    I am keen to test your Watson conversation service but has not been able to make it work despite following instructions (as far as I can understand them). I would appreciate further guidance.

    Kind Regards

    Plugin now updated to version 0.2.2. I updated to the latest version of the plugin but with the same result when I enter credentials and Workspace ID. The Plugin rejects what I enter. I have again entered a support ticket in the IBM support system.

    I actually got it working after many attempts of tweaking what I entered. The key seemed to be the URL I entered. The default one did not work. The URL stated at the credentials within my Workspace did not work either. What worked was using a part of the URL stated in my Workspace. My next problem is no make URL links appear in the dialog box. They do appear but have the same text color as the background. Hence, they are clickable but invisible so you will miss it if you don’t know it is there (like I do).

    I managed to get links to work as well using this instruction to Watson:

    Please have a look at this web page (click): Cox regression

    Hi,

    The credentials page for Watson Conversation has recently changed and we will update the instructions to make this process clearer for future users. As for the link colour, we have just released an update fixing this issue. Please update your plugin to the latest version for the fix.

    Thanks for your patience,

    I am gradually understanding how this works and I can see a huge potential. One problem is when you teach Watson by looking at past conversation to instruct Watson about where he misunderstands. I created this support ticket 4 days ago but so far no response. I am hoping that a response can come quicker here. Support ticket:

    “In my workspace I can click on “Improve”. I can see dialogues. I noticed it missed the correct entity for a conversation. I can adjust the intent but when I click to”Add entity” it does not show any of the available entities. This must be a glitch in the system and I would appreciate if you can fix that.”

    Hello, I still have the same problem as @alwaysenthusiast had.
    I’m not able to link my Watson Conversation Bot to WordPress. Which link have you used @alwaysenthusiast ?

    If you go to your Conversation, I clicked on “Deploy” then “Credentials”. Then there are two kinds of credentials: “Workspace” and “Service”.
    I took the “Workspace URL” and pasted into WordPress, but this is not working!

    Could you help me out? @cognitiveclass

    Hi,

    I took the first part of the Workspace URL provided exactly where you are looking and entered it: https://gateway-fra.watsonplatform.net/conversation/api/v1/ (removing whatever came after /v1/). Let me know if that works for you. My test version is currently running here: http://science-network.tv/ask-ronny/

    I have managed to work out how to train Watson when it missed the correct entity. First click on the + sign and secondly mark one or two words in the user message. A search box appears and I suggest you start with your desired entity and secondly in the list look up the value of that entity. Watson still makes the same mistake but I assume it may take some time before these adjustments are implemented. Looks promising so far.

    Wow, great thank you.. know it worked! Why nobody from IBM could answer that. Struggling for more then a week. Basically it was so simple. Cheers @alwaysenthusiast

    @wolfandgentlemen
    AlwaysEnthusiast’s suggestion should fix your issue. We’re updating the setup process in the upcoming version to clear this confusion.

    @alwaysenthusiast

    Hi
    I still have problem with recognition of a specific value of an entity. I have told the chatboot in previous conversations when it goes wrong by adding the correct entity and value. I have done this >5 times but it never learns. Any suggestions?

    @cognitiveclass Is it possible that with the new update from Watson WordPress, the color selection is not working anymore? (Appearance -> Color -> #294057)
    Then on the homepage, the header and button is transparent and not showing the color.

    BTW: great update, especially with the calling agent function.

    Would it be possible for you to create a new topic in the support forum and fill in the “Link to the page you need help with” box? It would help us diagnose your issue.

    @alwaysenthusiast
    Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ll look into it and get back to you.
