Disabled options still active?

Hello!

I just discovered an old setting in a podcast that I’m curious as to what the behavior should be. This site used to use Category casting, but years ago that was disabled. I just found out that somehow, over the years of Powerpress updates, and old Category setting migrated the redirect URL to the “Mirror URL” setting in the Category casting, and that’s what’s been messing things up (for years now, I’m guessing LOL). That mirror setting in the disabled Category casting settings actually overrides what I have set in .htaccess even through being disabled.

I had long ago assumed that those settings would be ignored if that option was disabled… is that not the case? Should I have emptied all the settings for that before disabling?

The only way I found this was from searching the actual database for the errant URL, finding it buried in wp_options, and yes, that mirror was redirecting all traffic to an old feed service URL that does not exist.

Just thought you guys should know in case it needs some coding TLC 🙂
