Today I observed a strange behaviour. After I deleted some messages in Flamingo the link to these messages like: “https://mysite.com/?post_type=flamingo_inbound&p=1156” show up in de Indexnow plugin log as being submitted to the search engines that use Indexnow (like Bing and Yandex). Obviously a visit from the search engines results in a 404. This is unwanted behaviour because it feeds a whole lot of 404 pages to the search engines.

This is what I get in the visitors log:
    2026-05-24 22:46 YandexBot 95.108.213.145 /?post_type=flamingo_inbound&p=1156 404

Is this a Flamingo problem that could be solved?

Where can we see the website in question?

    This is my website: https://dialysehumor.nl

I noticed all query strings of all deleted messages are submitted to the Indexnow plugin resulting in 404’s when search engines visit. This might give me a bad reputation with search engines and that’s not what I want.

I also noticed that when I use that query string with a valid post ID it gives me a 301 to the page where it was posted.

    What’s the “Indexnow”?

Indexnow is a wordpress plugin that automatically submits new or changed pages or posts to a range of search engines. More info here:

Okay, I got it. Ask it in the IndexNow support forum instead of here.

Thank you. I will post a message in the Indexnow forum. Hopefully they don’t say I should post it here 🙂

For now I de-activated Flamingo hoping for a solution
