Custom Navigational Breadcrumb + Schema

Our team currently uses Yoast for our WordPress site, and we’re thinking about switching to Breadcrumb NavXT. We want to know if it’s possible to edit the individual breadcrumbs for a specific set of blog posts (within a category).
Some of these pages we want to include are outside of the WordPress install but are still on the same site/domain.
Our hope is that, if possible, it will also reflect the Navigation Breadcrumbs in the schema.

So, you can programmatically add/change breadcrumbs in the breadcrumb trail using the

If you are talking about schema.org breadcrumbList compatibility, the default settings are compliant using the RFDa dialect. If you are talking about the JSON-LD schema entry that Yoast SEO adds, there is an extension to override the breadcrumbList element added by Yoast SEO (see https://github.com/mtekk/Breadcrumb-NavXT-Schema).
