Please help me understand this. I have a CPT setup on my blog for ‘News’, but can’t figure out how to setup specific categories for that CPT.

Right now I have an auto-blogger posting fine to the CPT, but I must be doing it wrong for the categories.

I created a category under the normal “posts” area called “latest news”, is this where I make the categories for the CPT? I couldn’t figure out another way.

The auto-blogger is posting fine to the CPT, but when I go to look at the category under posts, it shows empty, even though it shows a post count and the posts are showing fine in the CPT.

There must be something I’m doing wrong in the setup of the CPT, but can’t figure it out. Thanks for the help.

Have you clicked on the “Advanced options” link underneath the description textarea when creating the CPT? Towards the bottom will be checkbox options to associate tags/categories/custom taxonomies to the post type and get support for them registered.

Thanks Michael, sometimes the obvious aren’t so obvious. Straight now.
