I have three levels of membership. Level 1,2, and 3

Level 1 has access to only level 1 pages but level 2 should be able to see both level 1 pages as well as level 2.

Level 3 should be able to access all content.

The way the permissions work now this isn’t possible without duplicating each levels pages for each level allowed to access it example:

Currently I would have to create multiple copies of one page ie “Level 1 (Page A)” content and duplicate this to allow level 2 members to access it as well by creating a duplicate page ie “Level 1 Page A Content for Level 2”

It seems an oversight but is it possible to add a simple “or” statement to a page’s Membership Requirement setting so that a page could be set to allow level 1 “or” level 2? The way it works now a level 2 would need a level 1 membership which seems a bit silly since they are a higher level.

With a simple “or” statement setting I could add “or” level 2 and level 3 to each of level 1’s pages and an “or” level 3 to level 2’s pages etc.

Or perhaps a Member Level Hierarchy would be a solution.

I hope this makes sense and let me know if there is already a way to do this.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

  • Hi Frameshifter,

I apologize as I did make a reply to your topic but it seems as if it did not go through. This can be handled through PMPro out of the box.

Here’s an example on how to set up your pages:

    1.) Create a “Level 1” Page
1.1.) On this page, set the Require Membership box to “Level 1”, “Level 2”, and “Level 3”.
    2.) Create a “Level 2” Page
3.1.) On this page, set the Require Membership box to “Level 2” and “Level 3” only.
    3.) Create a “Level 3” Page
3.1.) On this page, set the Require Membership box to “Level 3”.

Basically the above example will let users who belong to level 3, access all 3 pages, and users who belong to level 1 access only the “Level 1” page.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks You

I tried this but it instead requires a membership for each instead of the overruling one. IE If a standard member tries to access the basic page it will give an error that says it’s not available to standard members and offers for them to signup under the basic option.

    I will try it again.

@slocum Studio – you’re not crazy πŸ™‚ you did respond previously – this is a duplicate post.
