the Facebook comment box fails to load unless you refresh the page – which a normal user will never do –

I am having the same problem here! Seems to me that when it does load, it’s the last thing to load.

Look into conflicts with other plugins and themes, as well as test within other browsers to see if there’s a certain issue.
