I’m having a few problems adding price range to search for services. Initially I added £10,000-£20,000, £20,000-£30,000 in a select box but the commas gave problems. So I added price ranges as categories but now I have a problem with the category order in the widget search e.g.

    £1,000,000 – £2,000,000
    £100,000 – £200,000
    £2,000,000
    £200,000 – £300,000

Obviously I want to display lowest to highest first.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi Steve,

Currently, we don’t have a way to sort the categories using a custom order that forces the order you want. The reason it sorts that above has to do with how the database handles string comparisons (even though those are numbers, the whole thing is treated like a string…which is why things like 100 will show before 1 in a list)

We do have this on the list of items to add in the future, but it’s not there today.

One way you can force the ordering is to put a number or letter at the very front like this:

    a) £100,000 – £200,000
    b) £1,000,000 – £2,000,000

It’s not ideal, but it’s the quickest hack I have available for you at the moment.

it’s a good idea but not sure it’s suitable for my project.

but thanks for the quick support.
