Change the text?

I want to change the title in English.
If I change it in Settings > Customize, it works.
But then I cannot change it in French as well
– Tried in POedit, didn’t work
– Does not work with .po .mo
– Does not appear in WPML strings
– I tried changing settings Multilingual website compatibility mode on, then off
How to change texts in English, then translate them?
