Change episode description on Google, Spotify…

    Hi and sorry for my English.

    First of all thank you for you amazing plugin.

    I was trying to change how platforms like Google, Spotify, etc show the description of my podcast posts.

    If I understand correctly, these platforms simply take your post’s content as description. However that’s not very good for me, I would prefer to have a modified description.

    On the Powerpress plugin settings I finally found (under Feeds/Podcast SEO) the option “Specify custom episode titles for podcast feeds”, and it works perfectly.

    Is there no similar option to do the same with descriptions? Or any other way to accomplish this?

    Unfortunately, no. The Description Tag (or the content encoded tag) is directly taken from the main post content. That is a WordPress thing and not podcast-specific.

    You could install Yost SEO and it has a function that will truncate the main blog post with a continue reading link.

    Thank you, I have the Yoast plugin, I’m not finding what you mention but will keep looking.
