• Hello,

My podcast has been hosted on my own website using the PowerPress plugin with no issues for years. The last 2 weeks I’ve been going back and forth with Apple and my web host without a resolution. I think this is my last hope to find a resolution.

Below is the latest reply from Apple. My host assures me there are no redirects setup on my site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Toby

    Email from Apple –

The URL attribute of the enclosure tag points to your podcast content. Currently, the URL for an episode in an enclosure tag is the following:

    [audio src="http://media.blubrry.com/tqashow/tqashow.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Episode-36.mp3" /]

However, it appears there is a 302 redirect for the URL of the episode. Putting the episode’s URL in a browser’s address bar produces the following URL:

    [audio src="http://tqashow.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Episode-36.mp3" /]

It appears the episode’s media files have temporary redirects. When an episode media file was requested, it is being directed to a new location.

    Hello @teeebrown,

If 302 redirects in the media URLs were the reason your podcast is not on iTunes, then 99% of the other podcasts on Apple would also not be there. We will pass this onto our lead support contact at Apple, they need to know they are putting out wrong answers.

Their own documentation not only states they accept 302 redirects, but also that they will follow up to 5 of them: https://help.apple.com/itc/podcasts_connect/?lang=en#/itc2c07d8468 You can reply to them with that URL.

Can you reply with the feed URL associated with your listing ID 1363672527? Until we see what feed URL you are trying to submit to them we cannot help you.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    Hi Angelo,

I’m still having issues. Any chance you’ve been able to look at this?

    Hello @teeebrowne,

It appears you are using a service or server called LightSpeed. It appears to be blocking Apple podcasts servers. Contact your web host, see if you can bypass LightSpeed somehow for your site, or if it is required, you could try using PodcastMirror.com service to host a copy of your feed to submit to Apple.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
