Hi Elise,
Thank you for the detailed description, it helped us understand the issue.
Elementor’s Post Info and Post Custom Field widgets can’t show the duration. Vimeotheque doesn’t save it as a separate custom field. It’s stored together with the other video details in a single entry that those widgets can’t read.
To solve this, we’ve added a dedicated widget to Vimeotheque for Elementor, starting with version 1.0.4.
- Update the add-on
WordPress checks for plugin updates only every few hours, so the update may not show up yet. To check right away:
- Go to Dashboard → Updates in your WordPress admin.
- Click the Check again button at the top of the page.
- Vimeotheque for Elementor 1.0.4 should now appear in the Plugins list on that page. Select it and click Update Plugins. You can also update it from the Plugins page, where you’ll see an “update now” link under the add-on.
Updates are delivered only when your license key is entered in the Vimeotheque PRO settings. If the update still doesn’t show after clicking “Check again”, please make sure your license key is saved there, then try again.
- Add the duration to your Loop Grid
- Edit the Loop Item template used by your Loop Grid (Templates → Theme Builder → Loop Item).
- Search for “Vimeotheque Video Duration” in the widgets panel and drag it where you want the duration to show. You can remove the Post Info / Post Custom Field widgets you used for this.
- Save the template.
The widget shows the duration of each video in the loop, for example 03:44 or 1:05:03 for videos longer than an hour. It also works in archive templates and on single video pages. In the widget settings you can:
- add text before or after the duration (for example “Duration: ” or ” min”)
- choose the HTML tag and alignment
- set the text color and typography
In the Elementor editor, the widget may show a placeholder (00:00:00) when the preview isn’t a video post. On the live site, it shows the real duration of each video.
With this, you won’t need to add the durations manually in your Vimeo tags anymore.
