• Site Kit was set to a staging site search property before we migrated to the final production URL.

Now, although the production URL has a search property and is gathering data, and we reset Site Kit, SK keeps defaulting to the staging site search property.

Is it possible that resetting Site Kit doesn’t get rid of all configuration data regarding the old property.

Thanks for reaching out @jcollier. Indeed your Search Console property should reflect your final production URL. To troubleshoot this further, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. What was your staging site URL, and does this staging site remain live and accessible?
    3. A screen recording of your experience. You can use a service such as Loom or Zight to share a screen recording, while using the same form mentioned above to share a link to this privately.

Is it possible that resetting Site Kit doesn’t get rid of all configuration data regarding the old property.

If Site Kit wasn’t reset before a migration, and the URL changes, the plugin does typically recognize this and guide users through the setup stage once more, with all records then updated. In your case, it sounds like however your staging site wasn’t migrated to production, not all records were updated, or there may be something else happening. Once we have the information above we can find out more.

Do let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.
