I just installed the plugin today. I was able to create a new Quiz, and clicked Edit link. This took me to the questions page. I clicked Add Question button, and the Question pop-up form displays for a second and then displays, and then the whole page goes blank in the web browser.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Greetings Joe:

Thank you for choosing to use this plugin!

I have a few questions for you real quick:

When the page goes blank, is it before or after you fill out the add question form?

When you say whole page, does that include the admin bar/sidebar?

On the Quiz Options page (the one where you edit the questions), can you click on the question mark next to the page name? Does a help display pop-up?

    What browser are you using?

Have you tried in any other browsers?

What version of WordPress are you using?

    What OS are you using?

    Thanks

    – The Add Question form disappears before I can enter anything
    – The entire browser window goes blank (Chrome)
    – The ? does display the Help Popup (however I noticed if I just mouseover the X (close) on the Help popup, the screen goes blank just like the above
    – have not tried other browser yet
    – WP 3.8.1
    – Win 7

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
    Joe

Most interesting. Can you do me a favor.

Go to your Quiz Options page in your Chrome browser. On your keyboard, push CTRL+SHIFT+J. A small window should open along the bottom. At the top of that small window, you should see “Elements Network Sources Timeline Profiles Resources Audits Console” Click on Console. Can you copy and paste everything in that window into this support topic? Press CTRL+SHIFT+J again to make that window go away. Thanks.

The contents of the console are below (I’ve separate the lines below)

I noticed another strange occurrence of the blank page happening on the Quiz Options page as well. After I go to the Quiz Options page if I mouseover the top wordpress bar on either the Comments, New or WP symbol icons the entire page goes blank just like in the other cases? Very odd. I’ve also tried this using IE 11 and it does the same thing.

Thanks again for your help Frank.

    Frank,

Here is some further info. I had a WP site running 3.5.2 and installed the plugin. No issues…I was able to create a quiz, add questions, and none of the blank screen troubles. I then update that site to WP 3.8.1, and the plugin still works as it should.

Could there be an issue of a new issue on WP 3.8.1?? Any suggestions?

    Thx for your help.

The contents of the console doesn’t show any errors that are occurring in HTML or JavaScript. The contents that you listed have shown on all my WordPress sites, so there is nothing new or worrisome there.

You mention the Comments, New or WP symbol doing something similar. Is this only from the plugin pages or from any page in the WordPress installation?

Have you noticed this issue going to any other site besides your own WordPress?

To my knowledge, there are not any specific known issues with 3.8.1 that would cause these particular issues.

On the WordPress that is having this issue, do you have many other plugins installed? Is there a lot of traffic on the site? Would it be possible to deactivate a plugin, see if that solves the problem, if not reactivate and then try the next plugin and continue through your plugins? If not, can you provide me a list of your plugins so I can try doing something similar on one of my test sites?

    Frank,

I’ve found the issue to be a result of another plugin being installed. The plugin name causing the issue is “SP FAQ”.

Once I deactivated SP FAQ, the quiz plugin works as it should.

Thanks for all your help, and making a great plugin.

    Joe

I would recommend letting the developers of SP FAQ know of the issue. I’ll also install the plugin on one of my test sites to see if I can do anything with Quiz Master Next to work better with that plugin.

You are quite welcome. Feel free to let me know if you need any other help.

    ~Frank
