Hello @katjavolker
Trust you’re doing well!
This happening only with the Safari browser. It is a bug in Safari browser, happening when GZIP Compression is enabled (Happens in FireFox browser sometimes). It can be fixed either by clearing cookies from your browser, or form deactivating GZIP Compression.
Please enable debug mode and see if there any PHP errors, warnings will be recorded. Please fix these errors. Usually, it happens when there are errors on the site, and they somehow messing the compression in browsers like Safari and FF. Once your site is error-free, this should not happen again.
Kind regards,
Nastia
Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately I have to have GZIP enabled. Isn’t that the most usual setting nowadays? I also think it is not a question of a browser bug but to make adjustments in the plugin to not have this happening all the time.
Of course I can clear my cookies but I certainly can’t tell every single visitor to do so.
Our customers have to be able to make an order without meeting an empty screen.
What errors are usually messing up? Is it PHP or js?
Looking forward to hear from your. Thank you in advance.
The only thing showing up when debug enabled is Undefined index: sliding in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/widget-options/includes/pagebuilders/elementor/render.php which is a notice, not an error.
Hi @katjavolker,
I believe Nastia was referring to the compression option in the Page Caching module. Please make sure that “Serve compressed versions of cached files” in Hummingbird – Caching – Page Caching is disabled.
Best regards,
Anton
Thank you for your answer. I have disabled the option. Haven’t had the issue since my last post though. Will have to wait and see if this works.
