The event bar background and font colour is (I am told) not easily readable.

The theme style is purely monochrome and I cannot see where this is set. Is this a Sugar Calendar option, perhaps a premium one?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @patbell101

This isn’t a hidden theme setting, it’s controlled from within Sugar Calendar’s own display options, but it lives in a different place depending on how the calendar was added to that page:

    • Block editor (Events Calendar block): Edit the page, click the calendar block, and look in the right-hand sidebar under Styles. There you’ll find an Appearance dropdown (Light/Dark mode) and a Colors section with an Accent Color picker — you can pick a theme swatch or paste a custom hex value.
    • Shortcode ([sugarcalendar_events_calendar]): You can pass appearance='dark' (or 'light') and accent_color='#hexvalue' as parameters directly in the shortcode.

By default, the calendar inherits your active theme’s color palette so it blends in, so if your theme itself uses a very limited, monochrome palette, that’s what’s carrying through into the event bars. The Appearance and Accent Color settings above are the way to override that and get better contrast.

Could you let me know which of these three methods you used to add the calendar to that page? That’ll help me point you to the exact right spot if you don’t see these options where expected.

Its via the block editor but changing accent seems to do nothing. Never mind I eventually managed to override the font colour by using a css editor. Thanks anyway. Its a great product and well -received by myclub committee.

Great to hear you got it sorted, and thanks for looping back to confirm. Good to know for future reference that Accent Color didn’t touch the event bar itself in your case, a CSS override was the right call there.

Really appreciate the kind words, and glad it’s landed well with your club committee!

    Best,
