• An untested update (2.4.9) broke multiple websites running this plugin, causing a DoS on the database server, resulting in websites to crash after repeated attempts to upgrade the tables used by the plugin.

Wasted several hours trying to investigate and remove the plugin from affected sites. And this is a plugin that has a paid option. May have affected thousands of sites if the auto update feature was turned on. No updated were provided on the companies social channels – complete silence.

Uninstalled from all sites and will be looking at an alternative instead.

    Hi @nirajshah-1,

We do understand the frustration this has caused. As soon as the issue was detected, our team worked hard on a fix instantly and got it patched in 2.4.10 asap.

Our plugins go through rigorous development and quality assurance steps, yet, unfortunately, this bug was found after the release. Our developers then quickly started working on a fix. The initial reports demonstrated it was only a warning without hurting the performance, though more tests noticed some issues could happen in some hosting affecting the performance.

As for an update on social media. We don’t use that communication channel for such updates, however, all reported cases here and the official wp.org plugin reviewers email was quickly addressed while our team worked on the fixes.

Please ensure you have the latest version 2.4.10 on all your sites. We sincerely apologize for the time and frustration this caused and hope you can re-consider using the plugin and we hope we can convert it into a 5-stars experience.

    Regards,

    Nithin
