Trackbacks/pingbacks would still be visible when logging in to the admin panel. I still doubt this is spam as Akismet is doing its job fine and blocking a heap of spam (all which is still visible in the spam folder) yet these comments don’t show.
The problem seems to have gotten worse over the weekend also. The posts blank comments come from appear to be random but I have noticed that they seem to come through mostly 2 at a time from 2 different posts.

Hi,
A site I manage http://www.rachaellynch.com.au has started to have problems with blank comment notifications. It has progressively got worse over the last 3 weeks and we now receive approximately 10 blank notifications a day. The empty or blank comments don’t show up when logging into the dashboard.
Typical email looks like:
A new comment on the post “Tour Update – World League” is waiting for your approval http://www.rachaellynch.com.au/tour-update/tour-update-world-league/

All plugins are up to date and we’re running WP 3.8.1. I’ve tried selectively deactivating plugins but nothing seems to fix it. Normal comments are coming through at the same time so comments haven’t failed all together.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
