Hi Andrew
WP-Cron is the system that runs recurring jobs on your website (such as checking for plugin updates).
This article should help you get it fixed:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-view-and-control-wordpress-cron-jobs/
Hope that helps!
Thanks Dan
So could this be something to do with the server, as in the last month since I moved to GoDaddy I’ve had more problems with their server than any other host I’ve used in six years. I am reviewing another host, so if it could be the server, it might be easier for me to wait until I’ve tried them before I start making changes like this ?
Kind regards
Andrew
Hi Andrew
It could be server related, especially if you’re on shared hosting, or it could be due to a plugin misusing the wp-cron system. If you do plan to move hosts soon, it might be worth waiting to see if that resolves the issue before trying further troubleshooting.
Thanks Dan
I suspect it is my host (GoDaddy) I’ve had more problems with their server in the 6 weeks I’ve been with them than I have with any other host I’ve used over the last 6 years. Hopefully my site will work well on Verpex and that will resolve this issue.
Hi @hampalm1
I’m marking this as resolved since you are moving your site for a new host, and this should solve the cron issue.
If you still need help with this, please feel free to mark it ‘not resolved’ again.
Thanks
