    Hi,

Hello, I have set up Google Analytics in the Sitekit plugin and according to the plugin, everything is correct. However, I cannot see any data in Google Analytics and I cannot see the tag in the source code either.
I have already cleared the cache on the server side, but that did not help. I have also completely reinstalled Sitekit, but that did not help either.

Please give me some tips on what else I can do.
Is there any reason not to integrate GA normally via the code as an alternative?

    Best,
    Stephanie

It’s not the code, that’s definitely correct. And if it were wrong, at least the incorrect version would have to be visible in the source code.

Thanks for reaching out @stephanieoberzaucher. I performed some checks on your site and indeed I don’t see a Google Analytics snippet placed via Site Kit. There can be a number of reasons for this, including:

    1. The setting to place the snippet could be toggled off (even if the module is connected within Site Kit)
    2. Your WordPress configurations (ie. Your sites environment_type may be set to staging, see here)
    3. A third party plugin conflict
    4. A theme modification resulting the one of the standard WordPress hooks not functioning.

If you’d like to share your Site Health information, we can investigate this further for you. Thank you.

    Thanks for your response

    1. where is this button? i don’t think that its toogled off but i don’t have this view
    2. I do not think, that i have staging. But how can I check?
    3. Maybe? I do not have many plugings
    4. mhm okay

    What information do you need?

    Best,
    Steffi

Hi Steffi, and apologies, I never shared the link to where you can share your Site Health information. You can do so here.

In relation to the setting to place the Google Analytics snippet, you’ll find that at Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Analytics > Edit. Do let me know if you happen to have the snippet placement disabled. You can enable if so, and I can then check your site once more.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you.

Hi, I filled in the link. Sitekit was already activated, so that wasn’t the problem.

Many thanks for sharing @stephanieoberzaucher. From reviewing your Site Health information I can see the issue. Your environment_type is set to local. Only sites that have a production value will see the Site Kit snippets placed.

I’m unsure why your environment_type is set to local, maybe initially when creating your website it was created using a local web server. Given your website is now live, I would advise changing this to production, at which stage the Site Kit placed snippets will be placed. There may be a plugin such as Website Builder by SeedProd that’s defining your environment type, or you may have the environment type set in your wp-config file, located at your websites root directory. It’s also possible that your environment type is set at host level.

Let me know if you don’t see any option to change your environment type within your Website Builder by SeedProd, or you don’t see any environment_type references in your wp-config file and I can advise on this further. I’ll perform some checks with the same plugin to see if there is a configuration we can change in the meantime.
