    Hi,

I have noticed that my league table isn’t calculating the Against points correctly
All other stats are adding up correctly, just the against isn’t and i can’t figure out why.

I have an event result called “Set 1” and a Table Column called A (against) with the formula “A = Set 1 (Against)”

But a player that has played/won 3 matches and conceded a total of 3 points shows as having conceded 16 points.

All other stats, played, won, lost, for and points all appear to be correct

    Any ideas?

  • HI there!

Can you please send us a screenshot of this formula, and this player that has the wrong stats?

Also, please send us links to your pages (the player page, or league table) so we can check them as well.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The link to the table is here – https://bit.ly/3agQlDy

    Screenshots:
    https://ibb.co/ssW2hMj
    https://ibb.co/M8GWxZn

If you look at the player currently in 1st place, he has played 4 and won them all

    Scores Are
    11 – 0
    11 – 2
    11 – 1
    11 – 5

These don’t show on the player pages, i would like to add past / current games on their pages, just not sure how.

Currently, his against is showing as 21, not 8 and this affects all users.

The formula I have is the same for the “For Points” except looking at the against column but possibly it’s wrong.

    Regards,
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie

Thanks for your reply and for the links. Whenever possible, please send us full screen screenshots. For example, even though we want to see the formula, the column key is important as well, and I can’t see it in your screenshot.

The formula itself seems to be correct.

Some players seem to have it correct as well, such as these

    https://tabletennis.tmtforum.co.uk/player/matt-williams/
    https://tabletennis.tmtforum.co.uk/player/liam-bell/

The weird part is that there are random differences between these players. Each of them is off by a different count of what their against should be.

Some events are quite weird as well. The names are reversed sometimes, you have scheduled events in fixtures, fixtures in schedules..

Anyway, let’s try to fix one thing at a time.

Select one of the players (one with fewer events is easier). Then set all his events to drafts. This should make all his stats to be zero in the league table.

If they aren’t zero, then you either have league table adjustments or data coming from other events (such as deleted events or scheduled events)

Then, publish events one at a time. If a specific event increases the against count more than it should, try reducing the number in the against column for that event to see how it affects the league table.

I know it’s a lot (and it is easier to do this in the Pro support, where we can do it for you), but that’s the easiest way to understand what is going on.

    Thanks!

Thank you for your detailed reply, i did as you suggested about marking them as drafts and the table changed to 0.

I then re-added them one-by-one and found this game to be the one that throws the against calculation out – https://tabletennis.tmtforum.co.uk/event/211/

Although i still can’t see anything obvious between that and other fixtures that would make it wrong.

I’m not sure what you mean by this

“Some events are quite weird as well. The names are reversed sometimes, you have scheduled events in fixtures, fixtures in schedules..”

Although it’s very possible i set the fixtures up incorrectly as i tested it a couple times and then imported it from CSV and there does appear to be some confusion around Player vs Player and Teams.

It looks like they are set up as teams but then in each event, i have to specify the players if that makes sense.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for your reply

Would it be possible for you to delete that event and recreate it?

Maybe there is some metadata that is wrong in it.

As for the imports, they won’t work for the player vs player mode. If you are using the team vs team mode with just one player, then it’s fine. But if your events are set to be individual you need to add them one by one.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I re-created the event and the scores were correct.

I then noticed if i just go into the events and click “Update” the scores correct themselves.

So what im now doing is setting the score in the event list, then open the event and click update which seems to correct the scores so not sure whats happening but that sorts it out πŸ™‚

One last question, do you know why the results on the player pages show this?

    <meta itemprop="name" content="{Player Name}">

    (@jdobbsy1987)

Ah, sorted the meta detail out, i didn’t have a logo set so just set events to not display logo

    Thank you for your help

    Hi there!

    That’s great, I’m glad it’s resolved!

As for this code, that’s very weird indeed. It looks like it was removed though. Did you manage to fix this?

    Thanks!

Oh, just saw your other reply. I’m glad it’s all good then
