    I’m using Advanced Ads with the pópular Newspaper theme from TagDiv. When using the feature to automatically insert the ad in the post content, the ad is inserted twice. I belive this is caused by the way custom post templates are implemented in the theme. However, I would be very happy if you could come up with a solution for this bug.

    Hi wporg39,

    thanks for reaching out.

    The issue you are experiencing could best be explained by the page using the the_content hook twice. This is normally an issue with another plugin.

    I have used Newspaper myself before and can say that it is not a general error.

    Would you be able to switch off some other plugins for testing? You can do this using https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ without actually switching plugins off for normal website users.

    Hallo Thomas,

    vielen Dank für deine schnelle Antwort. Das Problem wird durch das tagDiv Composer Plugin ausgelöst. Das enthält allerdings seit dem letzten Update die meisten (nicht grundlegenden) Funktionalitäten des Newspaper Themes.

    Siehst du eine Möglichkeit das Problem unabhängig von tagDiv zu beheben oder sollte ich mich mal an den Support wenden?

    Hallo Julian,

    mich würde das Feedback von Newspaper interessieren. Wenn the_content doppelt läuft dann wird das nicht nur bei Advanced Ads zu Problemen führen. Wenn die den Fehler aber doch bei uns sehen dann bin ich natürlich bereit eine Änderung innerhalb von Advanced Ads vorzunehmen.

    Ich warte also ab was du zu berichten hast.

    das Feedback von tagDiv kann ich dir gerne weiterleiten. Ich habe zwischenzeitlich testweise Ad Inserter installiert. Damit tritt das Problem auch auf.

    Hallo Thomas,

    ich habe zwischenzeitlich eine Antwort von TagDiv bekommen. Leider verweist der Entwickler darauf, dass er keinen Support für nicht offiziell unterstützte Plugins leistet. Auch auf meine nochmalige Nachfrage mit Hinweis, dass alle mir bekannten Plugins zum automatischen Platzieren von Werbeanzeigen betroffen sind und die Ursache des Problems mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit auf eine fehlerhafte Implementierung der Templating Funktion des TagDiv Composers zurückzuführen ist, wurde abgelehnt sich das Problem genauer anzuschauen.

    das ist echt schade.

    Traust du dir zu das Problem auf einer Testseite zu reproduzieren, wenn ich dir eine zur Verfügung stelle? Wenn das möglich ist dann schaue ich es mir mal an.

    Note for everyone. We have been able to reproduce this thanks to Julian’s help.

    While we are trying to solve it automatically, you can prevent this behavior by activating “Disable ads in secondary queries” in “Advanced Ads > Settings > General > Disable Ads”.
