Been setting up this product to replace another that didn’t meet our needs. It appears that WP Admin-level users are not automatically given permissions to view restricted content — they must be explicitly added to a membership group, and that group must have access to the content.

Not a big deal, but to avoid having designers and devs show up in membership lists, it requires creation of a special admin membership level, then specific inclusion of that level in all restricted content.

Seems like admins should automatically get access, and that would save some extra work.

  • Actually, we did this as a design choice. Everyone’s needs are different so it’s best to be able to test different membership levels and configurations as any WordPress user. Hope that makes sense!

Makes sense, it’s just a little more work to set up.

Also, as a future suggestion, you might consider an option to set default restrictions for any new content. (My client will be posting member-only blog entries, and they must remember to set every post as restricted — I’m betting they’ll forget about half the time.)

Thanks, I’ll suggest that to Jason, our lead developer. Marking this resolved
