Admin to Access All Levels?

    Hi there,

    This might be a no-brainer but I can’t seem to figure it out! As admin, I would like to be able to see all of the content labeled as only accessible to members. I have all these pages that I can’t see unless I disable the membership access which is not an option.

    There has to be a simple way to do this. It is my website and I should not be locked out of any content. And I should not have to change the membership access even for a few moments in order to make a change or align an image or something.

    Please help me figure this out! It is so annoying!

    Hey there,

    By default, we do not give admins full access for testing different cases. If you want to give any user a specific membership level, simply do so from the Membership section of their profile/Edit User page. Right now, this is the easiest way to switch between membership levels for admin testing, etc.

    Does that clear things up?

    So, that seems more trouble than it’s worth, don’t you think? Do you think you would change it so the admin would have access to all the pages? I have simply been embedding the membership access in each page I create via the shortcode, so when previewing the content I simply remove the space from the shortcode and can see everything. So instead of clicking the checkbox to allow access, the page is accessible to all but the content is enclosed in the shortcode. That is much easier than switching my user access each time I want to update or make a change to a page. I highly recommend changing it though. It seems like a no-brainer to me.

    Doing it this way allows for more flexible testing. There are plenty of cases where an admin way want to test something as a user without access. If you want though, you can create a specific “all access” level and check for that level during the pmpro_has_membership_access_filter filter, and always return true if so.
