Hi there,
Better Search Replace Support Team here, thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist!
I’m sorry to hear that the search and replace didn’t go as expected. When Better Search Replace appends a word instead of replacing it, it usually means the search or replace fields might have had a slight typo, or the phrase “tactical hook and loop” was accidentally created.
The easiest fix is to restore a website backup from right before the change. If you don’t have one, please reach out to your hosting provider as they should be able to roll your site back for you.
If a backup isn’t possible, you can clean this up with another search and replace. Before running this, please create a database backup first, then try the following:
- Fix the text: Search for
tactical hook and loop and replace it with hook and loop.
- Find the missed words: Run your original search again, but please make sure to check the “Case-insensitive?” option. The plugin looks for exact matches and may have missed capitalized words like “Tactical” or “TACTICAL”.
Please let me know how that goes!
