I have up’d security settings to the highest

as a administrator and higher security settings i get access denied and can only use magic link to login,

i am in germany have germany and other eu countries enabled (login by countries) my ip is in munich it says sometimes i am on personal wifi or public or home i think the public is the problem as my ip changes

i need to find a way to configure Solid Security so that your Administrator account is not repeatedly locked out when my IP changes,

please help me find a way with the correct instructions

Hi @rtdev, glad you reached out to us!

The Access Denied screen is coming from the Restrict Admin Access by Country feature which checks the geolocation of the IP you’re connecting from, not that you’re physically in Munich. Public WiFi, mobile, and rotating IPs often show up as a different country, so the login is denied even with Germany and other EU countries allowed.

Country restriction is tied to the IP’s country, so there isn’t a single setting that keeps the Administrator account unrestricted whenever your IP changes.

Can you please try these steps on your site to see if it helps:

    • After you log in with the Magic Link method, open Security → Logs and find the warning for the denied attempt. That shows which country and IP the plugin recorded.
    • On a stable home connection, add that IP (or your ISP range) under Security → Settings → Global Settings → Authorized IPs (Authorized IPs skip the country check). It may also help to enable (check) the “Automatically Temporarily Authorize IPs” checkbox.
    • On public or changing networks, keep using Magic Link, or use a VPN with a static IP in an allowed country and add that VPN IP to Authorized IPs.
    • If the site sits behind Cloudflare or another proxy, confirm IP Detection is reading your real public IP (Security → Settings → Global Settings → IP Detection).
    • For a more accurate geolocation, configure MaxMind under Security → Settings → Features → Utilities.

If you regularly log in from public WiFi with a changing IP, the Restrict Admin Access by Country feature may not be suitable. You can turn that feature off and keep 2FA, brute-force protection, and Magic Link enabled instead.

I hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.
