Spinning Circle
-
I was getting a getting a spinning circle when trying to upload images and therefore not allowing me to add anything to the sidebars or footer. I have WordPress 4.8.1 and it appears to have happened when I updated to this version. Plus I am getting Sidebar Debug in my top menu next to my login.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @thiagolf,
Apologies for the delay here.
I have tested Custom Sidebars on multiple 4.8.1 installations and couldn’t replicate this issue so there shouldn’t be any issue with WP version.
Can you tell me if you see any errors when you check browser console?
To open console in Chrome press Ctrl + Shift + J (Windows / Linux) or Cmd + Opt + J (Mac) and then do any action required to see the spinning circle. Also, could you try disabling your other plugins and switching to default WP theme so we can see if there’s any conflict on that end?
Cheers,
PredragThank you for using Custom Sidebars! I am going to close this ticket. If you have further troubleshooting information let us know and we will reopen the thread.
I have done what you asked and here is the detailed message. I will be out of the country from 26th Aug until mid September so if you repley in that period I will be away.

Hi @thiagolf,
Ok, so there are quite a few errors in console and when a script fails it also stops other scripts from loading, like the one needed to open Custom Sidebars popup, but I can’t really pinpoint the exact cause from the log.
Once you have plugins deactivated and popup is working can you enable them back one by one until you see the issue again, this way we can know with which plugin it conflicts with and we can debug it further from there.
Cheers,
PredragAfter deactivating each plugin individually I have discovered the issue is the Wordfence Security Plugin. Do you have any suggestions to remedy the issue
Another Update: It appears now that the Sidebar Plugin is working when Wordfence Security Pluging is activated. Which means my problem is now solved. No idea what happened to rectify the plugin. But happy days.
Hi @thiagolf,
Glad to hear it’s working for you now, it could be that there was some caching involved and that it cached some broken scripts from before and that it cleared it now.
If it does happen again please let us know so we can investigate it further.
Cheers,
Predrag
