As far as I know, the plugin no longer works whether you’re using 4.2.1 or 4.1.4 or anything else.

The problem is on Blogger’s end. They removed the old authentication mechanisms, so the importer won’t work anymore until we rewrite it, almost entirely.

Even though this stands correct, old authentication mechanism is removed (at least a pop up says so), the importing on prior to wordpress 4 sites is working.
I understand that a complete rewrite needs to be done, so i would like to know if you are going to support the plugin in the future.

Pekos, this is an open-source project so there is no them and us. Yes the plugin was started by some people working on the main project but at the end of the day it belongs to all of us, and that means the hard work as well as the benefits.

A couple of years back we were in a similar situation where development had stalled, so I took it on as a pet project and moved things forward. I am just a WordPress user, same as everyone else.

So one of two things will happen now, either someone will step-up and volunteer to do the coding. Or another plugin/process will take over.

Once your old token expires then you won’t be able to re-authenticate regardless of WordPress version.

Anyone know of any alternative plugin that performs the same function import from Blogger to WordPress !?

    Hi

i have also tested this https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-advanced-importer/ but it won’t download images, it just makes a link to the original blogger.

    I have the same problem.

In the meantime, I used this plugin: Blogger Importer Extended.

It does the job perfectly, even retrieving images, links and pages. Highly recommended.

I have actually used the plugin mentioned by Kreestal. My mistake i posted another plugin.
But Kreestal are u sure images are downloaded? Can you check you uploads folder?

    Hi pekos!

Yes the images have been downloaded to my wp-content/uploads folder, and they have been imported to the Media Library, too, without any problem.
